NEWS FROM LITTLE MILTON SCHOOL

We were blessed with a fine evening for our Maypole Dancing and everyone who attended enjoyed watching the traditional dances, and eating a fine pig roast!   We are indebted to Laurelle, Eirian, Hil and Ian (all former parents) for providing such a brilliant musical accompaniment on the night.

The school has been buzzing throughout our Humanities week – Roman icons borrowed from Dorchester museum proving very popular!  The World Cup has enabled us to locate many countries on the globe – and every child partook in our own World Cup Tournament one morning – with Germany becoming the eventual victors!

Sports Day is fast approaching, and with it our leavers’ assembly.  Our five Year 6 children will be spreading their wings far and wide!  Two are joining their siblings at Wheatley Park, and the other three are off to Lord Williams, Icknield and The School of St Helen & St Katherine.  We will miss them all, and look forward to hearing news of them as they progress through senior school.

We said a sad farewell to Mrs Annette Morgan in June.  Annette has been at Little Milton School for nine years, and has been an inspirational teacher, teaching every year group during that time!  She has seen the school grow from just 27 children to the current 60!  Annette has left us for pastures new and is working with the Behaviour Support Team.  We wish her every luck in her new role.

As year school year draws to a close, we would like to thank the people of the village for their support throughout the year, buying raffle tickets, coming into school to talk to the children and attending our various festivals.
